Well here we are...a month and a half since the last post which means probably no one is reading this. It has been a crazy semester but we have seen many things happening. This blog will primarily contain my rants on Alabama football. I took a trip to Oxford with Lauren and my dad to watch the Tide play Ole Miss. We got into the stadium and the Ole Miss band for pre-game played "Dixie". You know the song that says, "Oh I wish I was home in Dixie". Then the P.A. announcer said "Let's celebrate America". I looked at Lauren and asked why we were celebrating America with a song that was about being separated in the Civil War. Any thoughts on this subject would be appreciated. My conclusion come about 5 seconds later when I realized that I was in Oxford. Hope everyone has a great week and come to guys and girls night.

What to Say???
If you haven't heard, we announced last night that the Well is moving to two services. Some might say..."Two services?? Are you joking?", my answer to that, "We are as serious as rattlesnake bites on the foot of Ms. America contestants." Because of space and number constraints, the best decision to make is to move to two services. As great as the first two weeks were, amazing would be a better word, there is still more that God wants to do here. There are still 24000 students who are left? Are you in? God is moving in a mighty way and we want to see Him touch the lives of every student here. How will you be apart? Which service will you be apart of? How can you do life with people around you? Check out the website for days and times of upperclassmen and freshmen life groups. Get connected!!!

One Overwhelming Night!
It's about 4:20pm on Thursday afternoon. We've had many conversations with you guys about what we each experienced last night at The Well. Never in a million years would we have imagined having over 1,000 students at The Well. Yet more than that, the thing that I can't get over is the movement of God in our midst. I have never seen the things we are seeing right now.
Our hope is that we would continue to move forward with God. Is this going to involve changing the way we do ministry? Yes! Is this going to involve sacrifice for all of us? Yes! Do we hope that each of us are willing to do whatever it takes to see this movement go forward? Of Course we do!
As we continue to soak in this historic moment, may our hearts be glad and may we set our gaze ahead as we seek to be the kind of people that hear and obey the One who has called us to follow.
I love you guys,
Ben

IT IS HERE!!!
What an amazing day we had yesterday. I don't even know if amazing is the right word for it. Mind-blowing...but is that two words or one? God just completely blew us away yesterday starting with the new 9:45 service. This was an amazing time just to see students, professionals, young adults and families come together to worship in what was something new for Calvary. The band sounded incredible and God's Word was proclaimed. I hope you were there to experience it first hand. If not, check it out next week. This is going to be a crazy week for all of us but I hope you are able to come out to the Well this Wednesday night at 8 pm. We are kicking off another school year so get excited. If not for classes then at least for the Well that night. Tell your friends, bring them along and come see what's going on at Calvary.

3 weeks away!
I'm sure you guys aren't ready for the summer to be over, but in 3 weeks- the fall semester will be here. We have had a great summer and hope that you have too. We have seen many new students and have seen more students this summer than any summer previous. Know that we are praying for you as you wrap up the summer and head back to Tuscaloosa.
We're anticipating incredible things for this fall and we're asking God for more of His favor and His power. We want to invite you to be a part of all that God has in store for us this school year. By the way, Shauna and I recently found out that we'll be having our 3rd son and we're going with the name Asher!
Anticipating great things ahead,
Ben

The Inagural
This is the first of hopefully many blogs to come along. We are linking this to our main website which will hopefully be up in August. Ben, Lindsey, Josh or Emily might post some things on here but mine will definitely be better, funnier or whatever you want to call it. Have fun and enjoy.
